During the conceptualization of the Kariega Plant infrastructure, EBOR included future proof electrical reticulation for EV charging.
Two designated EV charging bays were positionally assign directly outside the facility’s reception area equipped with Sigen AC EV charging hardware.
The final components were installed in July 2026, with this first maiden charge taking place on the 18th August 2026.
The vehicle being charged was the newly released Volkswagen Caravelle eHybrid 4 Motion.
